Decade in Review
IDI scholars, in collaboration with the popular Israeli website, Walla!, survey the Israeli political scene as we conclude the first decade of the third millennium.
IDI congratulates Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer, IDI Vice President, on receipt of the 2009 Alexander von Humboldt Research Award in Humanities. The ‘Humboldt Prize’ is the most prestigious honor given in Germany to scholars in recognition of lifetime academic achievement.
Rabbi Yitzhak Levi
Former Minister of Education and long-time Knesset member, Rabbi Itshak Levi, joins IDI as the head of the new Policy Implementation project. The project's goals include impacting the political reality in Israel by helping policy makers understand and implement political reforms.
IDI Vice President Prof. Yedidia Stern explores Israel's clashing identities. Today’s political and social climate finds both the individual citizen and the State itself struggling to balance western-liberal and traditional-Jewish values.
IDI is spearheading an international effort to construct alternative models for the legal framework governing the war on terror in collaboration with the Woodrow Wilson Center and the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law.
