AFIDI Board Members

Elliott Broidy
Elliott Broidy serves as Chairman and CEO of Broidy Capital Management, a private investment company he founded in 1991. The organization focuses on investments in Israel and is part of a managing team under Markstone Capital Group LLC.

Among the many boards he has served on, Broidy was the founding member of the Board of Governors of the California-Israel Chamber of Commerce, an organization promoting trade and investments in Israel.

Susan Crown
Susan Crown is a Vice President at Henry Crown and Company, a family-owned and operated company. She also serves as President of the Arie and Ida Crown Memorial, a private foundation.

Crown recently served as Chairman of the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation.

David Fox
David Fox is a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. His main role is advising leading U.S. and international corporations in planning and structuring acquisitions and divestitures.

Fox is also founder and executive committee member of the Kaminker Project, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a land-use plan for an Arab community in East Jerusalem.

Tony Gelbart
Tony B. Gelbart is President and CEO of CPM Worldwide Group, an investment company with holdings in both the U.S. and Israel.

Additionally, he is co-founder of Nefesh B'Nefesh and a board member of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.

Michael Gelman
Michael C. Gelman, CPA and founding partner of Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, serves as Chairman of the Board of the Israel Project. He is also Treasurer of the United Jewish Communities. Gelman serves on the boards of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Board of Governors of Hillel International.

Gelman is a past President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the United Jewish Endowment Fund. Also, he was appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council by former President Bill Clinton.

Mike Leven
Mike Leven, who retired in December 2006 from a 45-year career in the hotel industry, has served as the President and founder of many industry organizations, most notably the US Franchise Systems, Inc.

Leven recently became Vice Chairman of the Marcus Foundation, where he previously served as a trustee. He is a board member of the Marcus Institute and Georgia Aquarium. Leven is the Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the general Chairman of the Atlanta State of Israel Bonds Committee, and Chairman of the United Jewish Communities Marketing and Public Affairs Committee.

Fred Marcus
Fred Marcus, a visiting Philosophy instructor at Emory University, previously worked at Home Depot. He is on the board of directors at the Marcus Institute and has been involved in the IDI since its inception.

Roberto Sonabend
Roberto Sonabend is the Co-CEO of Princeton Video Image, Inc. and CEO of Publicidad Virtual, leading digital advertising innovators worldwide.

A resident of Mexico, Sonabend serves on the Central Committee of the Mexico City Jewish community.
