Dr. Jehuda Reinharz is President of Brandeis University, where he is also the Richard Koret Professor of Modern Jewish History. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Dr. Reinharz has authored and edited over 100 articles and twenty-three books. His latest books are Glorious and Accursed Europe and Darwin and His Kind (in Hebrew), both of which were co-authored with Yaacov Shavit.
Dr. Reinharz earned concurrent bachelor’s degrees from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary, his master’s degree from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. from Brandeis University. He is married to Shulamit Reinharz, professor of sociology at Brandeis University and director of the Women’s Studies Research Center and the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute.
