Former MK, Adv. Nahum Langental heads the Israel Democracy Institute's (IDI) Public Council that meets to discuss the Jewish and democratic nature of the State of Israel. Adv. Langental received his bachelor's degree in law from Bar-Ilan University, where he also received a master's degree in Israel studies.
Adv. Langental was an MK in the 15th Knesset, from 1999 to 2002. In 1985, Adv. Langental was chosen as the director of the younger generation of Mafdal, National Religious Party, participants, and in 1993 he became the party's secretary-general. In 1996-1999, prior to becoming an MK, he was the Director General of the Ministry of Transport & Road Safety.
Adv. Langental participated in many Knesset Committees, and chaired the following committees: the Subcommittee for the War on Traffic Accidents; the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on Traffic Accidents, the Subcommittee for Industry, Trade, and Hi-Tech; and the Subcommittee for the Advancement of Women in the Workplace and Economy.
Today, Adv. Nahum Langental owns Humantra Investments, Ltd. He is also Chair of the Board of Paz Aviation Services, a Member of the Board of Clal Industries and Investments Ltd.; and a Member of the Jerusalem Post Board of Governors.
