The Human Rights and Judaism Project Advisory Council

Headed by IDI Vice President of Research Prof. Yedidia Stern and Senior Fellows Prof. Shahar Lifshitz and Prof. Hanoch Dagan, IDI’s Human Rights and Judaism project was established in 2010 in order to give new meaning to the concept of Israel as a "Jewish and democratic State." By training an elite cadre of scholars to unveil the roots of modern human rights doctrine and to explore the contribution of Jewish tradition to human rights, this project aims to expose the common ground between the two distinct elements of "Jewish" and "democratic".

The Human Rights and Judaism project is guided by an advisory board of leading thinkers and academicians, headed by former Supreme Court Justices Aharon Barak and Meir Shamgar. A full listing of members of this advisory council can be found below.
