Book Release: Reinventing Israeli Democracy
In the aftermath of the 2009 general elections, it is clear to all that Israel's political system is in urgent need of a makeover. Dr. Carmon's book, Reinventing Israeli Democracy, offers a comprehensive plan for political reform. This timely book, which will be available in English by early summer, is the synthesis of nearly two decades of comparative research conducted under the auspices of the Institute's Political Reforms Program. Dr. Carmon proposes measures to renew public confidence in Israel's institutions of government and help Israel’s leaders confront present and future challenges from a position of strength and stability.

Correction - Performance Measurement Study
In our February newsletter, we erroneously attributed sponsorship of IDI's pilot Performance Measurement Study of the Ministry of Transportation to Mr. Avi Naor. This project was in fact funded by Roni Naftali, chairman of Eden Springs Ltd. We are grateful to Mr. Naftali for his generosity. IDI Board Member Avi Naor, Chairman of Or Yarok, has most recently funded a research project on Legislative Supervision of the Executive Branch, which was completed in December 2008.
