Democracy in Crisis Forum - Final Meeting of the Year

Event Date(s):
6/2/2010

On Thursday June 3, 2010, IDI's Democracy in Crisis Forum will have its final summary meeting of the year. During the first part of the meeting, IDI Senior Fellow Prof. Tamar Hermann will present findings of her research regarding the phenomenon of anti-politics, and will explore the changes that have taken place in the attitude of citizens to the political system and the possible implications of these changes for the resilience of Israeli democracy. During the second part of the meeting, Prof. Yaron Ezrahi and Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer will lead a summary discussion reviewing the meetings of the Forum during the last two years and the insights that have emerged from them.

The Israel Democracy Institute's Democracy in Crisis Forum brings together scholars from varied disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, and law to discuss issues pertaining to democratic theory and the challenges of governance confronted by contemporary democracies. Under the leadership of IDI Senior Researcher Prof. Yaron Ezrahi and IDI Vice President Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer, this forum meets on a monthly basis.
