Members of IDI's International Advisory Council (IAC) convened at Wye River, Maryland for two days of historic discussions about IDI's role in ensuring Israel's future as a Jewish and democratic state. The conference, chaired by IAC Chairman George Shultz, focused on IDI's activity in the spheres of political reform, counterterrorism, and religion and state.
Attendees discussed presentations by IAC members Abraham Sofaer, Michael Walzer, and James Wolfensohn, heard an address by Israeli Ambassador to the U.N., Prof. Gabriela Shalev, and participated in a video-conference with the Governor General of the Bank of Israel, Prof. Stanley Fischer. IDI presenters included Dr. Arye Carmon, IDI President, and IDI Vice Presidents of Research Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer and Prof. Yedidia Stern.
