18th Caesarea Economic Policy Planning Forum (2010)

Event Date(s):
6/16/2010 - 6/17/2010

On June 16-17 2010, IDI convened Israel's leading scholars, policy-makers, and business leaders for two days of deliberations at the 18th annual Caesarea Economic Policy Planning Forum, Israel's largest and most influential economic conference. The 2010 Forum took place in Nazareth, an Arab-Jewish city in northern Israel.

The Caesarea Forum examines issues with far-reaching ramifications for the future of Israel's economy and social structure, and develops economic platforms that can serve as the basis for sound economic policy on the part of the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Israel. During the months leading up to each annual conference, members of the Forum analyze key challenges facing the government and draw up practical plans for implementation of proposed reforms.

The 18th Caesarea Forum focused on the following topics, which were deemed by government officials, academics, and professionals to be top economic and social priorities for the year to come:

1. Israel’s Job Market: Current and Future Challenges. Chair: Prof. Reuben Gronau

2. Israel’s Third Sector and its Relationship to the Public and Business Sectors. Chair: Dr. Nissan Limor

3. Macroeconomic Policy: Leaving the Economic Crisis Behind. Chair: Prof. Nathan Sussman

This event was broadcast live with simultaneous English translation on the IDI website.
