Event Date(s):
5/24/2009

On Sunday, May 24th, IDI's George Shultz Roundtable Forum will host the third in a series of seminars on Constructing a Common Ethos for the State of Israel, as a Jewish, Democratic and Egalitarian State.

The third session of the conference will examine the issue of An Appropriate Regime for the State of Israel in the 21st Century. What are the fundamental challenges facing Israeli democracy, and what reforms are required  to sustain it in an ever-changing reality? How can Israel make the shift from a formal democracy to a substantive democracy that enforces human rights? Does Israel need a constitution, and  is it capable of reaching a consensus in order to adopt one?
