Simultaneous translation into English was provided for all parts of the conference that were not in English.

For the first time, the Forum featured two panels on its opening night: A Fixed Game? Capital and Sports in Israel, and A Threepenny Opera: Capital and Culture in Israel, and concluded with a special panel and an address by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Three main issues on the agenda were: Ways of Reducing Poverty in Israel, Formulating Policy for the Low-Tech Fields, and Macroeconomic Policy. Three teams were established, comprised of leading figures in the public and academic sectors, each of which presented their findings at these separate panels.

The Forum discussions were supplemented this year with speeches by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Finance Minister Avraham Hirchson, and the Governor of the Bank of Israel, Professor Stanley Fischer. The Forum’s guest of honor was Professor Robert Solow, 1987 Nobel Laureate in Economics. Others invited to speak and respond at the Forum include: Ofer Eini, Kobi Haber, Shraga Brosh, Minister Eli Yishai, MK Yaakov Litzman, Prof. Avia Spivak, Prof. Avishai Braverman, Avraham Biger, Prof. Yaakov Sheinin, Shlomo Nechama, Dr. Yitzhak Peterburg, Prof. Zvi Eckstein, Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg, and others.
