Parliament is an online journal that deals with issues such as the government, the legal system, and Israeli society from a local and global perspective.
The first edition of Parliament was published in 1993, and up until the year 2007 the journal dealt with a wide variety of topics, including elections in Israel and abroad, Israeli society, constitution, state and religion, security and the Military, political parties and political activism, the European Union, and much more.
In 2007 the format of the journal was altered, so that ever since each edition has been dedicated to a specific topic currently of interest to the Israeli public. Each topic is examined from a theoretical, empiric and international perspective.
Parliament is a Hebrew journal intended specifically for the Israeli public, and is not officially published in English. Even so, many of the articles can be of interest for English speaking audiences as well – in Israel and abroad. Hence, each issue of Parliament is carefully examined, and some of the articles are selected for translation into English.
The translated articles are posted here, on the IDI English website, and can supply our readers with in-depth analyses of current affairs in Israel, in English!
