Parliament is an online journal that deals with issues such as the government, the legal system and Israeli society from a local and global perspective.
The first edition of Parliament was published in 1993 and until 2007, the journal dealt with a wide variety of topics, including elections in Israel and abroad, Israeli society, the constitution, state and religion, security and the military, political parties and political activism, the European Union, and much more.
In 2007, the format of the journal was altered and since then, each edition focuses on a specific current topic of interest to the Israeli public. Every topic is examined from a theoretical, empirical and international perspective.
Parliament is a Hebrew journal intended specifically for the Israeli public that is not officially published in English. Even so, many of the articles may be of interest to English speaking audiences as well – in Israel and abroad. Hence, each issue of Parliament is carefully reviewed to select articles for translation into English.
The translated articles, which are posted on the IDI English website, offer our readers an in-depth analysis of current affairs in Israel in English.
