Sokolov Prize Awarded to IDI's Uzi Benziman

Uzi Benziman, journalist for Haaretz and Editor-in-Chief of IDI’s Seventh Eye journal, has been awarded the 2006 Sokolov Prize for journalism. The Sokolov Prize for print journalism is awarded annually by the city of Tel-Aviv which wrote that Benziman is "among the senior publicists in Israeli journalism whose piercing writing has, throughout the years, uncovered shortcomings in all branches of establishment."

Benziman helped found the Seventh Eye Journal, a bimonthly journal which serves as a platform for the media to evaluate and critique its own performance, by observing itself through seven eyes. The journal is written and edited by active journalists who come together to assess their own profession.
