Director of International Communications

Wanted: The Best Storyteller in Israel

The Israel Democracy Institute is seeking a full-time Director of International Communications with responsibility over the Institute's English-language communications, press relations and digital assets: Facebook, Twitter and Website. The position is available immediately.

Responsibilities

Engage international journalists located in Israel and abroad
Serve as liaison to international audiences, including Jewish organizations, foreign diplomats, and foreign think tanks
Edit and draft a variety of written content, including op-eds, press releases, articles, marketing content, talking points, and presentations
Supervise and update the Institute’s English-language website and social media channels
Draft and disseminate newsletters on a regular basis

Requirements

A minimum of two years experience working with journalists, Jewish organizations, foreign diplomats, think tanks, and academics
Deep familiarity with Israeli politics, society and culture
Native English-speaker with fluent Hebrew
Excellent writing ability and impeccable grammar
Team player
BA
Availability to work regular hours in Jerusalem and unconventional hours from home

Advantages

Familiarity with the American Jewish community
Experience working with newsletter platforms such as VerticalResponse and MailChimp
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM
